With the aim of illuminating women’s problems in an expressive, artistic and human way, and through various paintings that relied mostly on kinetic dance performance, supported by musical and light effects, the Anima Dance Group presented today the dance theatrical show (Eve) directed by Mohamed Hammoud Shabat, within the multi-use hall in Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.

The play embodied what looks like a physical, visual, and dramatic show, looking into the problems of women in the Arab region, through the story of a group of girls. Over an hour, the show attempted to present an artistic formula that approximates these issues within a dance-dramatic framework, in which the body is the link with the spectator.

Through the elements of light, music and the body, the play sought to present what looks like a statement against the exploitation of women in the East, and everything related to the dignity of women in societies that still deny them their rights to education, work and express their opinion.

A number of artists participated in the show, including Marwa Al-Atrash, Ahmed Hamouda, Judy Al-Ali, Hazem Al-Shaarani, Rawan Al-Rahia, Mira Issa, Carmen Ali, Daniel Radwan, Moayed Shawish and Ghazal Al-Badr.

The show runs until next Thursday.
