A 25-year-old man, a resident of Lakia, was arrested this evening (Saturday) on suspicion of murdering a 60-year-old woman, after she was shot to death in the street during a fight between factions within the Al Sanaa family.
MDA medics and paramedics who were called to the scene provided medical treatment and evacuated her to Soroka Hospital in critical condition with a penetrating injury during resuscitation operations, but despite the resuscitation efforts, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Senior medic at MDA Ataf Abu Saad said: "The injured woman was brought to the clinic while she was unconscious with a penetrating wound in her body.
We gave her initial medical treatment together with the medical team and evacuated her to the hospital in an MDA intensive care vehicle in a critical condition while performing CPR."
The commander of the Negev region, Sub-Commissioner Nachshon Nagler, visited the scene of the murder at night and after assessing the situation, the investigation was assigned to the central unit in the Negev region with the assistance of the Eirat station.
