Al-Hasakah-SANA
The General Electricity Company of Al-Hasakah announced a decrease in the amount of electricity supplied to the province, as a result of the Turkish regime's continuous encroachments on the Euphrates River, and its attempts and the terrorist organizations that follow it to steal the river's water.
The Director of Al-Hasakah Electricity, Eng. Anwar Okla, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the quantities of electric energy reaching the governorate decreased from 35 megawatt-hours to 25 megawatt-hours after the significant decline in water levels in the Tabqa Dam, and the decline in the hours of power generation in it as a result of the Turkish regime’s encroachments on the Euphrates River. He pointed out that the decrease in the quantities of electrical supply from the dam necessarily reduced the hours of electrical supply provided to citizens in the governorate.
In a related context, Eng. Okla indicated that the technical workshops are currently conducting maintenance in the Swedish electricity generation facility in the countryside of the governorate and the 66 kV line feeding it, indicating that work is underway to complete maintenance at full speed to return the station to its regular status and generate electricity in the normal way.
