A fire broke out in Kwun Tong.
At about 3 am, a residential unit in Kwong Ya Building, Kwong Tin Estate, Lam Tin, suddenly broke out on fire, and an explosion sounded. Flames came out of the window of the unit, and the air conditioner also burned to the ground opposite the building.
Several residents woke up in the middle of the night, and with the assistance of firefighters, about 300 people were evacuated to the ground, and a small number of people fled to the rooftop for shelter.
It was reported that someone was trapped in the building, and the fire department rushed to open the throat for rescue, and dispatched a search and evacuation team to climb the building to search for the trapped people.
During the period, the fire department activated 3 hoses and 3 smoke cap teams to rescue.
The fire was put out at about 4 o'clock.

According to preliminary information, the scene of the fire was a unit on the 25th floor. A 92-year-old man lived alone on the site. His daughter just came to visit when the incident happened.
The father and daughter were rescued by firefighters, and both of them inhaled smoke and felt sick. In addition, their female neighbor who lived opposite was also unwell, and the three had to be sent to the hospital for treatment.
Firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire.
According to the female neighbor who was unwell after inhaling the smoke, as soon as the door was opened, the old man of the unit involved was seen squatting outside the door, staying motionless. The father and daughter, accompanied by neighbors and firefighters, fled to the ground. , and then sent to the hospital; Ms. Wu, a resident on the same floor, pointed out that when the fire broke out, she tried to open the door to escape, but a lot of smoke had accumulated in the corridor at that time, so she had to immediately close the door and cover the door with a towel to prevent the smoke from pouring into the house .
Then the smoke began to dissipate, and Ms. Wu and her family fled from the back stairs to the ground.
