US President Joe Biden has "strongly" condemned the Russian missile attacks on Ukraine.
They once again showed "the extreme brutality of Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin's illegal war" against the Ukrainian people, Biden explained.
The attacks killed civilians and destroyed targets that served no military purpose.
The attacks encouraged the US government to stand by the Ukrainian people as long as it is needed, Biden said.
Russia will continue to be held accountable together with international partners.
"We again call on Russia to immediately end this unprovoked aggression and withdraw its troops from Ukraine."
The Russian Foreign Ministry responded with a statement: The more Washington promotes the "belligerent mood" in Ukraine, the more difficult it will be to find diplomatic solutions, it said.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken had previously assured his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba of the US government's "unwavering economic, humanitarian and security assistance" in a telephone call.
The attacks on several Ukrainian cities such as Kyiv, Lviv and Zaporizhia killed eleven people nationwide and injured dozens.
Putin spoke of a reaction to the explosion on the Crimean bridge on Saturday.
On Saturday, the prestige project, which connects the annexed peninsula of Crimea and mainland Russia, was badly damaged.
