The Savoyard section of the French Communist Party in Chambéry (Savoie) filed a complaint on Monday, October 10, 2022 after the facade of its premises had been degraded by anti-Semitic tags.
These "
ultra-violent messages
" accompanied by swastikas were discovered on Saturday morning, explained Billy Margueron, departmental secretary of the party since June 2019. Impacts of pellet rifle fire were also noted.
“A foolish gesture”
"
We cannot say nothing and let it happen
," urged Billy Margueron Monday evening during a rally of support which gathered a few hundred people in front of the permanence.
“
This stupid gesture is the work of someone who doesn't even know how to draw a swastika.
We must continue to dismantle the discourse of this uninhibited extreme right
”, launched among the participants the deputy (LFI / Nupes) of Savoie, Jean-François Coulomme.
This is the fourth time that the Chambéry premises of the party have been targeted since the summer of 2019. Until now, the damage had been limited to material damage.
During Monday evening's rally, artists erased the tags by covering them with messages calling for "
freedom, peace, solidarity
" and "
living together
".
