The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) announced the launch of the organization's rapid response forces' "Lid" maneuvers in Tajikistan, with the participation of forces from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Armenia.
The RIA Novosti news agency quoted the OIC General Secretariat as saying that the active phase of the exercises will take place in the "Kharib Midun" military field, 140 km south of Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, from the 17th to the 21st of this month.
It is scheduled to participate in the maneuvers 1,000 soldiers, and more than 300 vehicles, aircraft, helicopters and drones.
It is noteworthy that the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is a political-military alliance that emerged on October 7, 2002, from the Collective Security Treaty concluded on May 17, 1992, and includes the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.
