Fabien Roussel likes to wield irony.
Monday, place du Colonel-Fabien, the national secretary of the PCF tried to make believe that his absence from the march against the high cost of living planned in Paris for October 16 was not a sign of distrust vis-à-vis of the now controversial leader of Nupes, Jean-Luc Mélenchon.
"The PCF,
quipped the communist,
it's not just Fabien Roussel, it's also all the personalities who have emerged over the presidential election!"
The fact remains that he will not be there, favoring several banquets of elders at his home, in his northern constituency.
“I am not absent, I am mobilized”,
he insisted.
But his absence speaks.
That's the goal.
With 2.3% in the presidential election despite a tonic campaign which has awakened the communist colors, Fabien Roussel can no longer claim much in the game of Nupes.
However, his consistency in wanting to impose his own line surprised his partners on the left.
