The municipality of Gauting provides new guidelines for promoting energy saving, for example when insulating houses.

It no longer provides incentives for photovoltaic systems.

Gauting – The municipality of Gauting is breaking new ground with the municipal energy saving support program.

Because the current energy crisis with rapidly increasing electricity prices has already motivated people to switch to photovoltaic systems, financial incentives at the municipal level are no longer necessary.

This is how the environment, transport and energy committee of the municipal council sees it, which has now unanimously and without debate adopted the new guidelines drawn up by environmental manager Wilhelm Rodrian.

From 2023 onwards, subsidies will flow for the energetic renovation with insulation measures on existing buildings.

For the first time, the use of process water is included in the program, which is endowed with 40,000 euros, as Mayor Dr.

Brigitte Koessinger explained.

"The aim of the funding program is to advance the energy transition in order to contribute to the preservation of our livelihood and the security of supply in our region," says Rodrian's preamble to the guidelines.

He reminded of the climate goals decided by the district council.

By 2035, the entire district should be "completely self-sufficient with energy".

In order to reduce CO2 emissions, private households must therefore also be brought on board.

Because they caused 18 percent of the energy consumption.

PV systems: Energy crisis as motivation boost

In the absence of the ill environmental manager, Mayor Kössinger and the council cleared the way for energy transition and climate protection on site.

Due to the current supply chain problems, the grants for the public electric charging station in front of the Öko & Fair environmental center in the amount of 1,500 euros, but also the approved grants of a total of 33,200 euros for 18 photovoltaic systems applied for are still being paid out "as a remainder of the budget".

But because the energy crisis has given the construction of PV systems "an enormous boost in motivation", incentives are no longer necessary for the construction of the systems in the coming year, according to the meeting proposal.

In addition, funding for the changeover has already flowed through the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control.

Due to a lack of citizen demand, the previously subsidized energy advice or electricity saving bonus will be discontinued.

Energy-saving measures in old buildings to optimize electricity and heat requirements were neglected in Gauting, "i.e. the insulation of facades and roofs and the replacement of windows and doors".

In view of the impending water shortage due to the dry summer, Rodrian also recommends subsidies for gray water use, i.e. the reprocessing of slightly polluted wastewater from bathrooms, showers or washing machines as purified water - for example for watering plants in the garden, cleaning, flushing the toilet or washing clothes.

Interested parties can now access the new guideline for the energy saving program 2023 adopted by the committee on the community website in the citizen information portal.

Not only owners, but also tenants are entitled to claim.
