German stars cut their hair: signal to Iran

Around 40 German stars from film, television and theater cut their hair off in front of the camera in solidarity with the protests in Iran.
The video, which the actress Meret Becker, among others, posted on Instagram on Monday night, is a good two and a half minutes long.
In the clip, Katharina Thalbach, Meret Becker, Lina Beckmann, Ronald Zehrfeld, Jasmin Tabatabai, Nicolette Krebitz, Melika Foroutan, Daniel Zillmann, Karin Hanczewski and Sandra Hüller separate from strands of hair.
Berlin – The text for this says in English: “In solidarity with all the people who are currently protesting in Iran.
We perceive you.
We stand by your side.”
Around 50 famous French actresses and singers, including Oscar winner Juliette Binoche, had previously cut off their hair in protest at the brutal actions taken by Iranian security forces against anti-government demonstrators.
The trigger is the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in mid-September.
The moral police had arrested her because of her allegedly "un-Islamic outfit".
What happened to Amini after that is unclear.
The woman fell into a coma and died in a hospital on September 16.
Critics accuse the morality police of using violence;
the police deny it.
Since the woman's death, thousands have been demonstrating across the country against the government's repressive course and the headscarf requirement.
Many young women in Iran cut their hair in protest.
