: During the Russian missile attack on Kiev, a missile hit 100 meters near the Jewish community compound.

The deadly Russian shelling of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, caught the Jewish community in the midst of the first day of Sukkot, when many worshipers and guests were staying in the tabernacle of the Chabad JCC Synagogue, led by the Rabbi of Kyiv, Rabbi Yonatan Markowitz. During the bombings, the worshipers took shelter in the basement floor of the synagogue, and stayed in the compound until the late afternoon hours.

From the information provided by the local security forces to Rabbi Yonatan Markowitz of Kyiv (who is in Israel for a family celebration) it appears that there are no casualties among the members of the community, and they continue to celebrate Sukkot while adhering to the safety instructions.
