The oldest dog in the world is said to have lived in South Carolina.
Now the dog named "Pebbles" has died.
The Guinness Book of World Records commemorates the animal.
Taylors - Known to be the oldest dog in the world, Pebbles has died at 22.
The toy fox terrier, who lived with a family in South Carolina and was the oldest dog in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records, passed away peacefully on Monday (October 3).
A Guinness World Records Twitter post shows photos of the award ceremony, which Pebbles received in May.
In March the bitch would have been 23 years old.
World's oldest dog, Pebbles, dies
The owners had previously informed about the death of the remarkable old dog.
It was only in May that she was included in the book as the "oldest living dog", before she now probably died of natural causes.
Pebbles has given birth to 32 puppies in her long life with her partner Rocky, the family who own the family wrote in a post on Instagram.
"Pebbles lived a long, happy life filled with love," it says.
"She gave us more than we ever gave her, and no statement could be truer." In Germany, a boxer mix was locked in a basement for a week - without water.
His family left him behind.
Yet he faithfully waits.
