Syrian cinema won two awards at the Alexandria Film Festival in its "38" session, Mahmoud Hemida, which concluded its activities this evening.
The winning films produced by the General Film Organization were distributed through the two films “A Tale in Damascus and the Amusement Park.” In the Arab film competition, “Noor Al Sharif,” actress Gianna Enid won the Best Actress Award for her role in the movie “A Tale in Damascus,” directed by Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed.
In the Short Narrative Film Competition, “Amusement City” won the Golden Prize for young director Nour Khair Al-Anam.
It is noteworthy that Syria participated through five films produced by the General Film Organization within the festival, where the feature film “A Tale in Damascus” competed in the official and Arab competitions for the feature film, which includes 14 films from 14 countries.
The two feature films “Days of Lead” directed by Ayman Zidan and “Al Hakim” directed by Basil Al-Khatib also participated in the Arab Film Competition.
