At the same time as the latest escalation in Ukraine, which included a severe attack on Kyiv and other cities using dozens of missiles, it seems that the unofficial arms of the Kremlin are also trying to show muscle.
The pro-Russian hacker group Kilnet, which is not officially affiliated with the Russian authorities but apparently works to help them, managed to disable at least 13 American tourist sites on Monday, including those of major airports.
Among other things, the websites of the major airports of Los Angeles and Atlanta - among the busiest in the US - were shut down. However, the US authorities emphasized that the plane traffic itself was not affected and there was no fear for passengers.
About a week ago, the same group damaged the government websites of several American states and disabled some of them completely for a long time, including Colorado and Kentucky.
In the latest attack on Monday, the group published a list of 49 websites of airports and travel companies, most of them in the US. It seems that in some cases, the hackers thought they were attacking airport websites when in fact they were unrelated websites.
