Shows last version before switching to electricity. One that will soon become a sought-after collector's item

Although the majority of vehicles sold on the planet are still powered by internal combustion engines, manufacturers are preparing for a different future.

Audi, for example, presents the latest incarnation of its wonderful V10 engine in a farewell version to the spectacular R8.

Of course, one can debate the question of whether such an extreme car should become electric, or whether cars that are sold in relatively low numbers should have a real global impact.

Either way, the next R8 will be electric and this car, R8 V10 GT RWD in its full name, is supposed to be the latest and most extreme version of the model.

It will be produced in a limited edition with only 333 units worldwide, with the 5.2 L V10 engine producing 612 hp here and carbon parts and other changes contribute to a reduction of about 20 kg.

Even more interesting is the fact that power is sent here to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Which makes this R8 the most interesting and desirable of them all.

But wait, if it's one last celebration for the lovers of the steering wheel and the old world, we would have integrated a manual box here instead.

In any case, the Audi R8 V10 GT RWD accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds on the way to a top speed of 320 km/h.

It will reach the public road in 2023 when the number of units offered is limited as mentioned.

Which will oblige those interested to make this very special order, quickly.
