Schuhbeck exclusive: Star chef is said to have cheated millions – in the restaurant he chats easily with guests

How is Alfons Schuhbeck really doing?

In court, the star chef seemed stricken, but when visiting his restaurant, the star chef shows a different side: approachable and talkative.

The tax process is now about everything for the star chef.

And indeed: the star chef is still on site almost every day - unless he has to go to court.

Today his tax process is continued in the Palace of Justice: Schuhbeck is said to have evaded more than two million euros - and has so far been silent on the allegations (we reported).

In his restaurant, on the other hand, he is present and talkative: Anyone who eats in the South Tyrolean parlors can currently meet the star chef there.

Right at the entrance is the "tz" from the start of the process.

"Schuhbeck: His bitterest day" is the headline.

He didn't put them away - and he continues to work.

Only four tables are occupied at lunchtime, but from the corner you can hear Schuhbeck conducting business talks.

“Does the chef still cook himself?” we ask the waiter while he serves Wiener schnitzel (28 euros) and rack of lamb (34 euros).

Answer: "Yes, of course." Schuhbeck even asks himself how it tastes. He seems relaxed and sometimes laughs - here, in the restaurant, his world is still in order.

Not like in court, when the 73-year-old seemed badly battered at the start of the trial a week ago.

Quiet music is played in Schuhbeck's living room, and his lavish awards are on the gallery.

"All the best", the guests and neighbors wish the star chef (see below) - he nods back in thanks.

And he also insists on chatting with familiar faces: he has lost 25 kilos - in two years.

So it wasn't just the tax problems that made him look emaciated - with sunken cheeks.

“I changed my diet,” reveals Fonsi.

He advises against carbohydrates and white flour.

After tearing a tendon in his shoulder, he is now also training at Bayern Munich.

“They have the right equipment for it.” He rows and demonstrates the movements while standing between the guests at the table.

You can feel it: Schuhbeck is still the same as a chef - but not as an entrepreneur.

He no longer runs the Orlando next door, and the ice cream parlor and cooking school are also closed.

Today Schuhbeck has to go back to court - for him it's about everything.
