Starting tonight: traffic disruptions on the Ayalon lanes, going up at the HaShalom Interchange to the south will be blocked

The Ayalon Routes Company announced that the entrance to the Peace Interchange will be hermetically sealed from 10:00 PM this evening until the same time on Thursday, in order to monitor the ground.

In addition, the descent to Ayalon will be hermetically blocked at the Arlozorov interchange heading south - from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and lanes on the road will be blocked

The Ayalon Routes Company announced today (Wednesday) a series of roadblocks at major intersections on the road starting tonight.

The blockades, which will begin at 22:00, are expected to cause heavy traffic congestion in the area.

According to the company's announcement, starting at 22:00 this evening - and for 24 hours - there will be a hermetic blockade on the ascent to the Peace Interchange from the south, for the benefit of monitoring the ground on the road.

Also, the descent to Ayalon South from the Arlozorov interchange will be hermetically blocked.

The blockade in this lane will be held from 22:00 until 05:00.

The company also announced that the right lane between the Arlozorov Interchange and the Shalom Interchange will be blocked tonight from 10:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

"As part of works to test the ground and prepare for the opening of the exit ramp from the Peace Interchange in Ayalon South in its entirety, follow-up tests will be carried out to monitor the ground," the company's statement reads.

The blocking of the roads comes about three weeks since a large sinkhole opened up on the way up to the Shalom Interchange in Ayalon South.

Since then, from time to time the company conducts works and soil monitoring in the area, for their benefit blockades are carried out and traffic disruptions are recorded.
