A politician from the extreme right-wing party "Brothers of Italy", who was recruited from fascist Morbilia, was elected Speaker of the Upper House of Parliament, during the formation of the most right-wing government in Italy since World War II.
According to a "Guardian" report, Ignazio La Rossa, the former Minister of Defense whose father was Secretary of the Fascist Party led by Benito Mussolini, he founded the "Brotherhood of Italy" with leader Giorgia Maloney, who is expected to be the opposite of the Prime Minister of the new government.
The new government includes Matteo Salvini's right-wing "Lega" and Silvio's "Forza Italia" Berlusconi. A second round to elect the Speaker of the Lower House will be held today, and Riccardo Molinari from Lega may be appointed to the position.
The new parliament session was opened by Liliana Segari, a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor and senator, whose speech provoked thunderous applause and applause, in which she reminded the legislators that later this month Italy will mark 100 years since Mussolini's march to Rome. "Lost and inconsolable, forced by the racist laws to leave her desk in elementary school, and now, in a strange twist of fate, sits at the most prestigious desk in the Senate," she said.

Like Maloni, La Rossa, whose middle name is Benito, began his political career in the young branch of the Italian Social Movement, a party founded in 1946 by supporters of Mussolini.
In recent days, a video has surfaced of him displaying fascist items, including photos, medals and a statue of Mussolini, in his home.
The video was shot in 2018.
"I even have a communist item, but I put it under Mussolini's feet," La Rossa says in the video.
La Rossa's brother, Romano, a lawyer for the "Brothers of Italy" in the province of Lombardy, was photographed performing a fascist salute at the funeral of a far-right activist.
Italian President Sergio Mattarella will begin consultations with the political parties on October 10-20.
Maloney is expected to receive the mandate to form a new government a few days later.
The inauguration of the government is planned for the end of the month.
