The theft of two Porsches attracted a lot of attention in Hamm in the summer of 2022 - only one of the noble oldtimers in the city was flashed!

The driver is easy to see: who recognizes him?

Hamm - The police in Hamm have an unexpected lead to the possible thief of the Porsche 911, which disappeared from an underground car park in the city center in mid-July 2022, reports wa.de.

The car - built in 1978, sales value around 70,000 - was flashed and photographed a little later at slightly excessive speed in the South of Hammerburg.

According to a police spokesman, the photo, which may have been fateful for the thief, was taken on July 19 at 4:53 a.m.

At the time, the Porsche was heading out of town on Richard-Wagner-Strasse.

Because he had 7 km/h (reproachable speed, i.e. after deducting the tolerance value) too much on the speedometer, a stationary column in the city was triggered.

The speed limit there is 50 km/h.

Porsche stolen: public search ordered

The information and the photo were made available to the police.

Because the driver could of course not be identified, but the vehicle is well known for the reason mentioned, the district court finally ordered a public search on October 13.

The police are therefore asking: Who knows the driver - at the time with a full beard and stubble-short hair - and can provide information about his identity?

Information is accepted on the telephone number 02381/916-0 or by e-mail to anleitung.hamm@polizei.nrw.de.

Porsche disappeared at the south wall in July 2022

As a reminder: the copper-brown metallic Porsche 911 disappeared from an underground car park on the Suedenwall between July 18 (8:30 a.m.) and July 19 (early in the morning).

According to police investigations, the unknown thief removed the license plates from a vehicle parked next door and attached them to the classic car.

Just a few days earlier, the theft of a red Porsche 911 Targa - also a collector's model - from an underground car park on the Nordring had made headlines.

Due to the suspicious duplication of events, many things quickly pointed to a connection from the police point of view.

The investigators are still considering this possibility, according to a police spokesman on Thursday.
