The local connecting road Aiterbach-Unterkienberg is in a miserable condition: ruts, sagging shoulders, a patchwork.

There are plans to change that.

Allershausen

- Mayor Martin Vaas announced in the meeting on Tuesday that a decision will not be made in the meeting because there are still a few things to be clarified and to be seen beforehand.

Vaas also alluded to the visit to Allershausen by Minister of Transport Christian Bernreiter, during which the local politicians of the western district communities had strongly criticized one point: the current preliminary investigations for a bypass of the Allershausen community are based on a traffic census in March.

This took place in just one day, which bothered both Kirchdorf's mayor, Uwe Gerlsbeck, and Allershausen's municipal councilor, Bianca Kellner-Zotz.

Their criticism has now borne fruit: counting has been going on again since Tuesday, this time over three days.

In the next step, the route will be determined and, based on this, the planning approval procedure will be initiated.

Refurbishment makes no sense before the route has been determined

And precisely the route, which cannot yet be foreseen, was a problem on Tuesday when the planning status of the Aiterbach - Unterkienberg municipal road was presented: "If those responsible should decide on the northern route, this road, which we are talking about today, a major role,” explained Mayor Vaas.

Because then the road would be expanded to become a state road, because a motorway junction would then be planned in Aiterbach in that area.

Nevertheless, planner Schönenberg presented the different variants.

He has been working for the Allershausen community with his engineering office since 1977.

And since then he has known this community connecting road as a problem.

"When I walked the street about 40 years ago with the then mayor Winkler, I found the same damage as today," recalled Schönenberg.

Since then, improvements have been made here, and the shoulder there has been made passable again with little effort.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

The road is 2.2 kilometers long with a four-meter-wide lane and relatively narrow shoulders, which - due to swerving in oncoming traffic - have sagged, as the planner illustrated with photos.

Full expansion tempts to rush and is not desired

In addition to a full expansion, which neither the municipal council nor the residents of the two districts want, so as not to convert the street into a race track, Schönenberg also presented a variant that he would recommend to the committee.

The costs for this would be around 4.36 million euros including the disposal of the substructure.

In addition, there would be land acquisition, because the street and part of the verge are currently owned by the municipality.

However, almost all of the embankments are only partly on municipal property, and this deficiency would be rectified in the course of road expansion.

The planning office has now envisaged a lane width of 3.50 meters in the favored proposal, as well as a one meter wide gravel banquet on both lanes.

The road is to be widened to six meters at a total of eight points along the entire route. Oncoming traffic is possible through these bays, but the road would not be made into a racetrack, as it would be with the full expansion with a total lane width of nine meters.

All preparatory work should now be done

Since the municipality wants to wait and see which route of the local bypass the road construction office decides on - which will take until spring 2023 - Schönenberg suggested that talks be held in the meantime regarding the purchase of land and that the planning office clarify how much government subsidies are possible.

In his estimation, it would probably be 30 to 40 percent.

Mayor Martin Vaas would also like to have the conversation with the people of the two districts, in which the affected property owners should also be present.

"And if the northern route falls out, that'll start," says Vaas.
