– The topic has been floating around for many years without anything concrete ever having happened: is a crafts and trades center being built in Unterhaching?
The Free Voters are now pushing for speedy implementation after a property owner presented them with the concept of a "green craftsmen's yard".
"There is a need to hurry so as not to lose more Unterhachinger traders to the neighboring communities," said the head of the Free Voters, Alfons Hofstetter, in the municipal council.
Area is used as a parking lot
The property in question is on Grünwalder Weg, north of the natural stone and tile shop on the curve by the S-Bahn line.
For years, the area has been used as a parking lot and for green waste disposal.
"In our opinion, the concept is convincing and meets all the criteria with regard to current technical and ecological standards," reports Hofstetter.
He suggested that the representative of the owner family present the concept to the entire municipal council as soon as possible so that the idea can be evaluated quickly.
Two alternative locations conceivable
According to information from Münchner Merkur, two other plots of land for a future craftsman’s farm are still under discussion: the area on Ottobrunner Strasse between the Develey mustard company and the autobahn, and next to the cemetery the former tennis courts of TC Unterhaching, which has been orphaned for years, according to the current one According to the planning status, however, it should only be used as a sports area.
