The three state authorities in Île-de-France, the regional prefecture, the police prefecture and the regional health agency, met last week to announce the
"final dismantling of
the Forceval camp
",
located 400 m from Porte de la Villette, opening onto Pantin in the north of Paris.
A camp which is home to constantly increasing traffic, being the scene of
"multiple serious acts of delinquency"
- a situation that has become
"unbearable for local residents and unacceptable from a security point of view".
The operation will have mobilized a thousand police officers.
And a large number of them will now ensure strong vigilance on the spot...
The socialist mayor of Pantin, Bertrand Kern, elected and re-elected for twenty-one years, immediately reacted:
“If this decision is a relief for the mayor that I am, I fear that this evacuation,
he said,
was poorly prepared .
