Day after day for more than three weeks, the CGT renews the strike in the refineries of TotalEnergies, causing a real hassle for motorists in search of gasoline.

However, the situation changed this weekend.

The negotiations demanded loud and clear by the unions ended up being held at the headquarters of the oil group on the night of Thursday to Friday.

After more than seven hours of discussions between management and staff representatives, an agreement was reached, then ratified a few hours later by the CFDT and the CFE-CGC, the majority within the French oil group, with 56.55 % of representativeness.

"Generalization of the movement"

“The measures on the table are of a level slightly higher than the agreement which was validated by ExxonMobil very recently”,

welcomed the CFDT coordinator of TotalEnergies at the end of the negotiations, at 3:30 am.

The group agrees to release a salary increase envelope of 7%, accompanied by an exceptional bonus of “value sharing” between 3000 and 6000 euros.

The CGT, which sat down at the negotiating table on Thursday evening, slammed the door, vilifying

"a masquerade" and

"largely insufficient"

proposals .

The striking union maintains its demand for a 10% wage increase, again brandishing inflation and the group's record profits.

One of the heads of the CGT at TotalEnergies castigates a

"coup de com"

orchestrated by the group around the figure of 7%.

“The collective increase represents only 5% for workers and technicians, below the level of inflation.

The rest is individual bonuses decided by the hierarchy, ”

explains Éric Sellini, CGT coordinator at TotalEnergies.

The management demands that the strike ceases and ensures that the signing of this majority agreement puts a definitive end to the negotiations.

The trade union organization is now counting on

"the generalization of the movement",

entrusted the negotiators of the CGT while leaving the headquarters of TotalEnergies.

Before the interprofessional strike day next Tuesday, a rally in support of the strikers was held at the TotalEnergies refinery in Donges, Loire-Atlantique, on Friday.

In front of some 200 people, the strikers hammered home their determination to continue the movement despite the signing of a majority wage agreement.

At the Dunkirk depot, several hundred kilometers away, the strikers blocked the entrance to the site, preventing the passage of requisitioned employees.

Images that clash with those of the two Esso-ExxonMobil refineries, where activity resumed between Thursday and Friday.

"The strike movement has been lifted here in Normandy as in Fos-sur-Mer, negotiations with management are blocked and requisitions are in place, we no longer have any leverage to fight,"

said Friday afternoon .

Christophe Aubert, CGT central delegate at the Gravenchon-Port-Jérôme refinery, near Le Havre.

Earlier in the day, the administrative court of Rouen rejected the summary appeal filed by the union to cancel the prefectural orders for the requisitioning of striking personnel.

A final blow to the strike movement which began on September 20 in the refineries of the American oil group.

From the Gravenchon-Port-Jérôme refinery, however, the cégétistes have called

for “large demonstrations and strikes for the day of October 18, wherever possible”.

The site's pipelines already deliver 7,000 m3 of fuel per day to Île-de-France, and the number of service stations in difficulty continues to decline.

In the two regions most affected at the start of the week, Île-de-France and Hauts-de-France, where nearly 45% of stations lacked at least one fuel, they are only 37% respectively. and 25.5% to encounter difficulties.

The Prime Minister welcomed these

"signs of improvement"

on Friday, despite the specter of a dark day on Tuesday, especially in transport.
