The current debates about wind power in Buch am Buchrain bring back memories of the dispute over the location of 2013. This time, the municipality wants to be prepared.

Buch am Buchrain

– Due to the current energy crisis, wind turbines are being discussed more and more frequently.

This ensures that the alarm bells are ringing in the municipality of Buch.

In the municipal council meeting, the next steps were discussed in order to avoid a location dispute like in 2013/14.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Erding newsletter.)

As is well known, there was a sub-area use plan (TFNP) in the district of Erding at the time, in which consideration was given to wind turbine locations in the entire region.

The fact that this plan envisaged a total of 16 locations in the municipality of Buch caused a lot of anger among the population at the time, and a citizens' initiative was even applied for (we reported).

The topic came onto the agenda of the municipal council meeting through a motion by the list of non-party citizens/SPD.

Martin Kern (SPD) referred to current reports and the task of the Free State of Bavaria to the regional planning association to think about the expansion of wind power in Bavaria.

Corresponding requirements that wind turbines should best be clustered and erected in forested areas have evoked bad memories of the TFNP among the group, Kern said.

It is feared that the ten-year-old plan from the district of Erding could be pulled out of the drawer again.

"We don't want to avoid wind power in principle, but we don't want to take it over again in solidarity for all other district communities," emphasized Kern.

One will probably not be able to avoid the topic, but Buch should think about it in advance, according to the wish of the non-party/SPD.

It is a fact that the current federal government wants to expand wind power, said Deputy Mayor Josef Auer (WG), who chaired the municipal council meeting.

At the moment, the 10 H distance rule still applies in Bavaria, "but I think we have to reckon with the fact that at some point that won't be the case anymore," Auer suspects.

Michael Rappold (CSU) also assumes that "10 H will soon be history, because Bavaria has to identify areas".

Kern could imagine that municipalities will soon be queried and report suitable wind power areas.

Book should be ready for that.

"We should keep the reins of action in Bucher's hands," said Matthias Steuzger.

The non-partisan local council added that wind turbines are only profitable at a height of 250 meters, which was not the case with the TFNP of 2013.

Like Rappold before him, Steutzger addressed the weather radar in Schnaupping (Markt Isen).

Due to a new regulation, smaller distances to wind turbines are now prescribed.

The municipal council agreed to find out about the new distance rules.

In addition, at Kern's suggestion, the approach to wind power in the district should be discussed in a mayoral meeting.

Robert Ulzhöfer (SPD) was generally bothered by the fact that wind energy is now being imposed on the municipalities and is no longer left to the municipalities' own responsibility.

As an idea for other energy sources in the municipal area, he named photovoltaic systems along the motorway.
