More and more parked mobile homes and caravans are blocking the streets in residential areas.

And not just for several days, but for months.

Local residents are upset.

The regulatory office is powerless.

Fürstenfeldbruck – Legally, there is nothing to be said against the parked mobile homes and mobile homes, as long as the mobile leisure objects have a valid license plate and are therefore both registered and insured.

Nevertheless, the complaints about "so much inconsiderateness towards us residents" are piling up, as Josef F. is outraged.

He did take a photo as evidence of a black camper van “that hasn’t been moved for months” in a parking lot on Ganghoferstrasse that has no time limit, but he also knows: “There’s probably nothing that can be done about it.” powerless police officers who have their office right next to it.

Complaints are piling up

Birgit Thron, the head of the regulatory office at City Hall, confirms F's fears.

Although complaints from residents have recently increased in her authority, she always has to refer to the legal situation: If there are no no-parking or time-limited parking signs, mobile homes up to a weight of 7.5 tons can stand indefinitely.

This is also the case along Peter-Rosegger-Strasse, which is adjacent to Ganghofer-Strasse, where several campers are parked long-term.

Other popular and legitimate permanent parking spaces near the city center are Feuerhausstrasse and Dachauer Strasse.

There, too, dissatisfaction is growing among the residents.

"When I look out the window, I keep seeing this old caravan," complains resident Claudia S.

FFB newsletter.)

But unlike a motorized mobile home, the following applies to a caravan with a license plate: If it is unhitched from the car, it must be “moved somehow” after a maximum of 14 days.

According to Birgit Thron, this is also checked by the municipal parking space monitors.

But as a rule, the trailer is simply pushed a few meters further to the next free spot before the deadline expires.

Scare away troublemakers?

The only possibility for residents to scare away the permanently parked troublemakers: to apply to the public order office for a parking ban applicable to such vehicles.

However, the chances of success are relatively low.

Because, according to Thron: "Then they are one street away and the problem area is only shifted."

Storage space on property must be eliminated

Josef F. says about the situation on Ganghoferstrasse: "Apart from five parking spaces, residents and their visitors have no other parking spaces available.

Because everyone else is limited to two hours of parking for visitors from the police.” What annoys him particularly: “People buy outrageously expensive mobile homes and are then too stingy to pay a few euros for a rented parking space.” There are opportunities to do so it at the train station, where several dozen of the rolling living rooms are already spending the winter for 15 euros a month.

Another parking space is on a farmer's property at the eastern entrance to the air base near Gernlinden.

But its 250 places are usually fully booked.
