The Gotham Knights game will be limited to 30 FPS on consoles
Warner Bros. Games Division announces that the new game will not offer different display modes, and the frame rate will be locked in order to ensure a smooth co-op experience

For all the console players who have been planning on the Gotham Knights game, we have news that may affect your decision whether to purchase the game at launch: the game will be locked to 30 frames per second (FPS) for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles, and it will not offer different display modes (Performance Mode) that will allow you to play with the quality.
The announcement came via the game's Discord page, and a representative of the Warner Bros. gaming division claimed that this would be the only way to enable a smooth, glitch-free co-op experience between players.
As of launch, players will only be able to play the narrative campaign with one additional player, and the option for up to four players will be added only one month after launch, on November 29.
This is what the official announcement reads: "Given some of the features included in the game, such as a full Co-Op experience in an open and detailed world, this is not a situation where you lower the resolution and get a higher frame rate. For this reason, we do not have the option of exchanging performance/quality and the game will run at 30 frames per second on consoles".
Since the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\S were released to the market, several display mode options have also been added to the games.
Removing these options could certainly spoil the enjoyment of quite a few players, who probably won't be willing to go back.
It is not yet clear whether the matter will be resolved in future updates.
Gotham Knights will take place in the Batman universe (but is not directly connected to the Arkham games released to date) and will focus on the Bat-Family.
The players will control the characters of Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and the Hood after the hero is killed in a mysterious explosion, and will have to deal with the mysterious criminal organization Court of Owls that is trying to take over the city of Gotham.
The game will be released for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\S.
