District of Miesbach – Around the “Day of Burglary Protection” on October 30th, the police are offering information stands in the Oberland.
Miesbach and Holzkirchen are also stations.
The number of cases in the area of "home burglary" (WED) has been steadily declining in southern Upper Bavaria since 2014.
Last year, 2021, a total of 193 burglaries were recorded in the police crime statistics (PKS) - the year before there were 279 cases (minus 30.8 percent).
"With its comprehensive prevention work through focus control actions, numerous lectures and consultations, as well as active public relations work, the police headquarters has made a significant contribution to this development for many years," explains the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South.
This will also be the case in the coming weeks: Under the motto "Hello neighbor!", public information events will again be held this year until mid-November around the "Day of Burglary Protection" on Sunday (October 30).
"Because in addition to useful security measures or appropriate illumination of the property and areas of the building at risk of burglary, attentive neighbors are also of considerable importance," explains the police.
