Irschenberg – Two drivers who were checked by the police on Sunday evening on the A8 motorway near Irschenberg had three false driving licenses with them.
Vehicular investigators from the Kreuth border police station carried out a check on Sunday (October 16) at 7.40 p.m. on the A8 motorway.
The police spotted a Mercedes and a Chrysler, "which were apparently traveling together in the direction of Salzburg," explains the border police.
Both vehicles were checked at Irschenberg.
According to him, the driver of the Mercedes was traveling from Norway to Italy and handed over his Iraqi passport and an Italian residence permit.
"He also produced two Iraqi driver's licenses, which were total forgeries," the report says.
The Chrysler driver, allegedly on the way from Sweden to Italy, identified himself with an Italian identity document and an Italian residence permit.
The Iraqi driver's license he presented also turned out to be a total forgery.
Both drivers, aged 37, were reported for forging documents and driving without a license and the fakes were secured.
In addition, they could not continue their journey and had to organize replacement drivers.
