The Halperin Optics chain is renovating its legendary and first branch at 92 Rabbi Akiva St. in Bnei Brak - and on Tuesday will be handing out 400 free pairs of sunglasses for adults and children to the first customers who arrive for the grand opening starting at 9:30.

Through the move, Tali King, the director of the network, wants to reproduce what her father did at the time.

"We believe there will be a commotion because it is a reason for a party, both because it is 'between the times' and because we publicized the event," King told Israel Hayom.

According to her, "there is a stock of 400 pairs of glasses from the house brands both from the new collection and from previous seasons, worth 199 shekels for adults and 40 shekels for children. And if a family comes with four children, we will give it to everyone."

The first branch of the chain, which currently has more than 125 branches, was opened in Bnei Brak in 1989 by the father of the family, Rabbi Halperin.

Now, after a renovation at a cost of about a quarter of a million shekels, the renovated branch covers 80 square meters.

King notes that on the occasion of the opening, the eye test device was also upgraded.

"There are many people who are not willing to be checked by women and vice versa, so we have remote control. In Bnei Brak this will be offered for the first time because there is a requirement for a check without human contact. The intention is to copy this equipment to ten additional branches."

Chaya Halperin, the CEO of the chain, said that "the most exciting thing for me is to renew the first branch that my late father established more than 30 years ago, the place where I would come after school in my uniform and stay until the evening to help and sell. The branch gives A feeling of home for us, my brother and me, and I am proud to continue in my father's footsteps."

Meanwhile, the Halperin Optics chain will inaugurate today a new branch in Hod Hasharon, the third in number, at a cost of about half a million shekels.

The branch, about 50 square meters in area, is located in the new commercial center, "David Center".
