Most members of the British Conservative Party want Prime Minister Liz Truss to resign immediately - just six weeks after they voted for her - and their preferred replacement is none other than the ousted Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, according to a new poll published today (Tuesday).
A YouGov poll shows that 55% said that if it were possible, they would vote now for former finance minister Rishi Sunak, who lost in the summer race for Taras;
Only 25% said they would vote for Terras again.
55% of Conservative Party members said she should resign immediately, while 38% believe she should remain in office.
63% believe that Johnson will be a good replacement, 32% even said that he is their preferred candidate.
He was followed by Sunak with 23%.
47% said the new finance minister, Jeremy Hunt, would be the best replacement.
Penny Mordant, another former candidate who lost the Conservative party leadership race in the summer, received the support of 54% while 62% said Defense Secretary Ben Wallace would be a suitable replacement.
The survey included 530 members of a conservative party and was conducted on October 18-117.
For her part, Truss finally apologized for wrecking the British economy and causing chaos in the markets with her "mini-budget" plan that was supposed to cut taxes for the rich and cut public spending.
After weeks of blaming markets and investors, Truss said she was apologizing for "going too far too fast" with her Thatcherite economic plan, which was supposed to boost growth.
Following the chaos, Terras fired Finance Minister and her close ally Kwasi Kwarteng, and replaced him with Hunt, who was forced to scrap the economic plan and announce the opposite plan.
"I accept the responsibility and regret the mistakes that were made," Terras told the BBC yesterday in an interview.
