The pilots of the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings are on strike for the third day in a row.

Munich Airport is also again affected by flight cancellations.

Munich – The Eurowings pilots are still on strike including Wednesday, October 19th.

It is the second time in 14 days that they have stopped work.

The Cockpit Association (VC) had called for another strike at Eurowings because they found an offer from the Lufthansa subsidiary to reduce the workload to be insufficient.

Strike at Eurowings: Take-offs and landings are also canceled at Munich Airport

The industrial action began on Monday morning.

Since then, Munich Airport has also been affected by flight cancellations.

On its website, the airport stated in the morning that 13 take-offs and landings - i.e. a total of 26 flights - were canceled by Eurowings for Wednesday.

Only three flights are to take place on the third day of the strike.

Strike at Eurowings: that's what the pilots are about

The Eurowings pilots fight less for a better salary than for better working conditions.

In a first round of negotiations, the Lufthansa subsidiary offered a relief package with ten additional days off per year and a three-hour reduction in weekly working hours.

The Cockpit Association was not satisfied with this.

Eurowings warned that VC would not be able to strike a better offer and that the renewed industrial action would only lead to greater damage and customer dissatisfaction.

Flights operated by the Eurowings subsidiary Discover are not affected by the strike.

Nuremberg Airport also reported no failures.

The strike is expected to end on Wednesday evening (11:59 p.m.).

On Thursday, some of the effects of the strike could still be felt at German airports, but normal operations should be restored quickly.

Eurowings customers who want to fly from Munich can find out about the current status of their flight on the airline's website or on the airport's website.
