Hang Lung's "She Pilots" program aims to cultivate female college students who are about to enter the workplace, providing them with mentorship, leadership training and internship opportunities, etc., to enhance their personal potential and strengths, and to achieve the diverse development of women.

The first phase of the project was jointly launched in Hong Kong and Shanghai. A total of 200 female college students from all over the country participated, and 40 elite women from various industries served as "She Pilots" mentors.

Students with outstanding performance can also get internship opportunities provided by Hang Lung or "She Pilot" tutors.

The first phase of this meaningful nationwide program received enthusiastic response during the open recruitment in Hong Kong in September this year. Among the many applicants, 100 female college students who pursued self-development and growth and were enthusiastic about community service were selected as shortlists. Among them, more than 100 students were selected. Forty percent of female college students are third- and fourth-year students who are about to join the society.

Students will have unforgettable experiences with their elite mentors, including leadership training courses, mentoring, community project practice, etc., to equip themselves to become future leaders in Hong Kong.

At the launching ceremony of Hang Lung's "She Pilots" program, Ms. Ho Pei Shan, Hong Kong's first female Customs Commissioner, was invited to officiate the launch ceremony for the event.

She encouraged the female college students present: "I have been engaged in customs for more than 30 years. In the early years, there were very few female law enforcement officers, but today it is different. Taking customs as an example, women account for about 22% of the customs; middle-level management customs officers , from 9% when I first joined the job, it has increased significantly to 40% now. Generally speaking, women have to work harder, constantly prove their strength, and do their duty well before they can be promoted. Men and women should be distinguished.”

Ms. Ho Pei Shan, the first female Customs Commissioner in Hong Kong, presided over the launching ceremony for the event.

"Professional earnestness and integrity are gender-neutral. The key is not the gender of the personnel, but whether they have empathy, the courage to accept challenges and the courage to take responsibility. The 100 Hong Kong female university students participating in this program will have an unforgettable exchange experience with their elite mentors, equipping themselves to become the future leaders of Hong Kong.
