A message of love and peace presented by the Russian people to Syria through a musical evening performed by the Kremlin Philharmonic with the participation of artists from Russia, set up by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Russian Presidential Affairs Department on the opera stage at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts.

The evening opened with the screening of the film (On the Path of the Syrian Wise Men) directed by Aksana Makeeva, which talks about the destruction inflicted on the Syrian archaeological sites in Palmyra, Saydnaya, Maaloula, Aleppo, and Homs, and what Syrian and Russian archaeologists have done to restore them, and to preserve the ancient civilizational and cultural heritage, which It constitutes the country's identity and its springboard to the world.

Through documentary photos of many important Syrian antiquities, and on the lips of stakeholders from Syria, and those interested in Russia, the film emphasized the importance of drawing attention to the possibility of restoring the Arc de Triomphe in Palmyra, restoring images and sacred contents in churches and monasteries to what they were before terrorism, and preserving Syrian heritage and identity. Ancient civilization and protection from loss.

With a number of Russian songs by the (Grandma’s Grandmother) band, which delighted the audience of the opera, in addition to several musical links by a number of famous singers in Russia, their tunes were sung to bring joy and happiness to the audience with the beautiful orchestral music.

In a statement to SANA, Minister of Culture Dr. Lubana Mushawah confirmed that today's concert is a message of love, peace and gift from the Russian people to the Syrian people, and a token of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the cultural and artistic field.

And about the film, its director Makeyeva explained that she wanted through it to present a message that “Syria is the cradle of world civilization,” and this was confirmed in a statement by Sana, noting that pictures of Syrian antiquities are important for every Russian citizen, and that the churches and monasteries in Syria are a symbol of Christianity in the world.

She added: The Russian people used to see a false image of the Arab East through the Western media, which distorted the old historical tales and presented them with a quiver full of secrets and unclear, but after the clouds of war cleared, the facts appeared that made us see that Syria is a country of civilization, beauty and joy, and it is the beloved of the heart of the Russian people.

She pointed out that it will not be the last film, but that there will be five films that will be shown next month, and three films that will be shown in the spring of next year, talking about Syrian castles, the history of authentic Arab music, and Syrian antiquities in general.

As for the singer Verkonova, she expressed her happiness at her presence at the ancient opera theater in Damascus, the most beloved to her heart, indicating that what caught her attention was the large public presence in the opera theater, through which she saw the extent of love and friendship between the two friendly peoples, referring to the beauty and prosperity that she saw on the Syrian land and that music It is the most beautiful message of love and peace that can be presented to those we love.

At the end of the evening, the Minister of Culture, Dr. Lubana Mushawah, and some Russian personalities were honored.
