Rabbi Shlomo Amar Shalita said at the opening of the khuvah: "Although I make many khuvahs, I don't remember a time when I was as excited as I was in this situation.

All of us, the people of Israel, owe dear Jonathan so much and maybe one day we will know the extent of his dedication that did not last a single moment but decades of severe torment in prison from which you not only did not fall, but you came out an even better and uplifted person because you worked and toiled for it.

I bless the dear bride and you that your home will be full of love, full of joy."

At the funeral of his wife Esther, who stood by his side throughout his years in the American prison, Pollard eulogized: "I have not seen anyone as brave as her. She fought hard to live. There was a nurse there who out of kindness let me be with my wife for her last three days. In the end I was given the option of giving her Fight, I told the doctors she fought for me for 30 years, I will not give up on her, I will give her a chance to fight. She fought hard for about an hour and then they called me back quickly, she heard me, I told her, when you get to the gates of heaven hug my parents and yours and wait for me because with God's help We will be together again. Love you forever."
