Is Vladimir Putin using Russian troops as 'cannon fodder' for the war?

In a speech, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyj sees his country under pressure.

Kyiv/Moscow - Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin ordered a partial mobilization of the Russian army a few weeks ago in order to improve military strength in the Ukraine war.

What is the clout of the Russian troops in the contested areas of the neighboring country in mid-October?

According to American experts, the armed forces of the Russian Federation are still struggling with problems, despite the supposedly new offensive power.

According to the Washington-based think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Department of Defense has not created appropriate conditions to integrate or even monitor the deployment of conscripted soldiers at the front.

Ukraine war: Russian soldiers as cannon fodder?

Selenskyj speaks of "pressure"

Despite the descriptions from the USA, Russia is apparently causing major problems for the Ukrainian armed forces due to the partial mobilization: "The use of these people by the Russian generals as cannon fodder allows them to increase the pressure on our defenders," said President Volodymyr Zelenskyj in a speech.

In addition, the increase in troops by the Russians would put "tangible pressure" on their own army, the head of state explained.

Ukraine War: Chief Commander Sees Need to “Increase Army Firepower”

The chief commander of the Ukrainian army also commented on the war.

Die

Welt

quoted Valery Saludschny as saying that the situation in the contested areas was "complicated but under control" from Ukraine's point of view.

The reports of what is happening at the front are accompanied by statements that the armed forces are dependent on further reinforcements from the west: "The superiority of the enemy artillery shows the need to increase the firepower of our army," Zaludzhny explains.

Air defense is essential for this purpose.

A few days ago, Germany sent the first Iris-T-SLM air defense system to Ukraine.

There it should be used to defend entire cities.

Ukraine: Russian soldiers out of place and overwhelmed after partial mobilization?

In order to compensate for the massive losses and recaptures in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in September that several hundred thousand soldiers would be partially mobilized.

Now some of the conscripted soldiers are said to be sent to the front without training and poorly armed.

Military reporters also report that mobilized reservists are getting into units without proper documentation of deployment locations.

To what extent does this information correspond to reality?

It is true that caution is advisable when warring parties or publications by allies report on the enemy camp.

However, there are also Russian sources reporting massive criticism of this military strategy.
