At the end of a security situation assessment held this evening by Defense Minister Benny Gantz, it was decided to close the crossing for Israeli Arabs to enter the Jenin area.

Minutes after the announcement, another shot was fired, this time at the Jalma crossing in the same area.

A reopening of the Salem crossing will be examined during the next week, according to the assessment of the situation in the area.

Meanwhile, a 30-year-old bus driver was slightly injured by suspects who threw stones near the settlement of Atarot in northern Jerusalem.

The MDA center reported that stones were thrown at a bus near the Atarot intersection. Medics and paramedics treated the driver who was traveling alone and evacuated him to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital.

Earlier, Gantz spoke in the village of Maccabiah and addressed the situation in Judea and Samaria.

"We will act wherever necessary - by whatever means necessary, to provide security to the citizens of Israel. The security forces have made hundreds of arrests, harmed and killed many terrorists."
