The attorney's office informed the family of IDF officer Amit Itach today (Thursday) that the indictment against Rafe Aslan, the driver accused of killing the young woman in a car accident, is more than valid. This, with an emphasis on the crime of negligence, which the Supreme Court claimed should be dropped.
State Attorney Amit Isman informed the family today that the indictment, which attributes to Aslan the offenses of causing death by negligence, neglect, causing actual bodily harm and obstruction of justice, will remain unchanged.

The state attorney's announcement follows the Supreme Court's precedent-setting statement in August, according to which Laslan should not be accused of neglect.
The investigation of the case shows that after the accident, the defendant stood on the side of the road without calling for help or offering help, and then refused to cooperate with the police.
The court ruled that these actions, including lack of cooperation with the police, do not constitute the crime of neglect.
"Today we were informed that the state attorney accepted our position, and decided to leave the crime of neglect in the indictment filed against the lawyer Rafe Aslan," says Lavala lawyer Bat El Erez Levinsky, who represents the family of the late Amit Itach, "This is an important and correct decision from a legal and moral point of view. Not only for the family of the late Amit Itach, but for the entire public, and in another significant step on the way to justice."
