It is in a huge logistics warehouse of 1400 square meters that the association has decided to house its departmental headquarters and to install the branch there which will serve the valleys of the high country by itinerant truck.

The particularly mild weather of the last few weeks would almost make us forget that winter is fast approaching.

A period always dreaded by the many homeless and idle people in the country.

The latter can however count - among others - on the Restos du Cœur, for which the time has come to get in working order.

In the Alpes-Maritimes, the association inaugurated its new premises this Friday afternoon, in Saint-Laurent-du-Var.

A huge logistics warehouse of 1400 square meters - against 400 previously -, which should make it possible to coordinate the actions of the Restos at the level of the department.

"We have set up this new site to better organize food distribution on the Côte d'Azur"

, explains François Chantrait, in charge of communication for Restaurants in the Alpes-Maritimes.

It is here that the association, founded by Coluche in 1985, has decided to locate its departmental headquarters and set up the branch there which will serve the valleys of the high country by itinerant truck.

Large premises for constantly increasing demand.

“The number of beneficiaries has steadily increased in recent years.

This year in particular, when we helped many Ukrainian refugees”

, continues François Chantrait.

Conversely, the number of volunteers is stagnating or even declining.

“These are the more or less direct causes of the Covid crisis”

, analyzes the communicator.

They are currently 700 throughout the department, distributed in 16 distribution centers - including 5 in Nice.
