Accident in the Berchtesgaden Alps: vehicle falls 30 meters - two injured

An off-road vehicle got off the path in the Berchtesgaden Alps and fell 20 to 30 meters down a steep embankment.

A car crashed down a steep embankment in the Berchtesgaden Alps.
Mountain rescue services, paramedics and helicopters were deployed.
Two people were injured.
Bad Reichenhall – A serious accident occurred on Thursday, October 20th, in the Berchtesgaden Alps: an open off-road vehicle fell down a steep embankment.
The two occupants were moderately injured.
Now the police are investigating.

Before the accident, the 40-year-old driver and his 19-year-old passenger were on a supply trip in the Lattengebirge in the afternoon.
This is reported by the BRK district association Berchtesgadener Land in a press release.
The accident happened between the Schlegelmuldenhütte and the Teisendorfer Hütte of the German Alpine Club (DAV).
The vehicle fell 20 to 30 meters there.
Rescue helicopters were also deployed after the accident between the Schlegelmuldenhütte and the Teisendorfer Hütte.

According to an initial assessment by the Reichenhall mountain rescue service, the two inmates were moderately injured.
The SUV rolled over several times and the two restaurant employees were thrown out of the vehicle.
Accident in the Berchtesgaden Alps: rescue helicopter in use
Helpers made an emergency call and provided first aid.
At around 3.50 p.m. the alarm was received by the mountain rescue service.
Several mountain rescue services, paramedics, an emergency doctor and a rescue helicopter then made their way to the scene.
After emergency medical care, the mountain rescue service transported the 40-year-old to the landing site in a stretcher.
From there he was taken to a hospital by helicopter.
The injured 19-year-old was also taken to a clinic.
A total of eleven mountain rescuers in the field and a further eight mountain rescuers in the valley were on duty until just before 6 p.m.
According to the BRK, the accident car was an estimated total loss of around 15,000 euros.
Officials from the Reichenhall police have now taken over the investigation.
