Gaißach – In many places there is currently a discussion about how energy consumption in cities and municipalities can be reduced in order to save costs.
This was also the case in the most recent municipal council meeting in Gaißach.
The committee mainly discussed electricity consumption: In future, care should be taken to ensure that the lighting in schools, kindergartens, craftsmen's yards, building yards and in the town hall is not left on unnecessarily.
This also applies to street lighting – with energy-saving LED technology, of course.
The Christmas tree in front of the Gaißach town hall was also a topic and a vote was taken on it.
Four local councils, including Mayor Stefan Fadinger, could have done without the illuminated tree - but a majority of ten local councils took the same view as Susanne Merk.
She pleaded for "allowing the church in the village" and not forgoing the sign of hope in the "staad time".
