A possible appearance of the ex-president in the House of Representatives should not be broadcast live. Committee vice chair Liz Cheney said Trump should not be allowed to turn the poll into a "circus."

It is still questionable whether he will come at all.

But should Donald Trump actually follow the summons of the committee of inquiry into the Capitol storm, according to committee vice chair Liz Cheney, the survey should not be broadcast live on television.

The Republican and Trump critic told the US broadcaster NBC News that Trump would not be allowed to turn the survey into a "circus".

The committee is treating the matter with great seriousness and the questioning could take several days, she said.

If Trump fails to meet his legal obligation, the committee has "many, many alternatives" that it will consider.

Pelosi: Trump 'not man enough'

The committee of inquiry had sent the ex-president a summons on Friday.

He is to hand over a large number of documents by November 4th and be available from November 14th for a multi-day questioning under oath.

It is still unclear whether Trump will follow the subpoena or take action against it.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a Democrat, told MSNBC on Sunday that she didn't think Trump was "many enough" to appear before the committee.

The committee is investigating the incidents surrounding the US Capitol on January 6, 2021: Trump supporters stormed the US Parliament building immediately after the Republican appeared.

The then-President once again stirred up the crowd with false claims that his victory over challenger Joe Biden in the November 2020 election was stolen through fraud.

Five people died as a result of the attack.
