Controlling quantities of ration flour and wheat in a closed mill in Lattakia

The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Lattakia seized a closed mill near the entrance to the city, containing large quantities of wheat and flour for the purpose of trading them in the market.

The Director of Internal Trade in Lattakia, Eng. Ahmed Zaher, explained that by following up on work in the markets, it was found that the mill produced white flour, where quantities were seized, although it stopped working about 3 months ago.

Zaher pointed out that the mill was placed under surveillance to see the cars entering and leaving it. When entering one of the cars, it was seized and he requested assistance from the Criminal Security Branch, indicating that when checking the mill’s assets, it was found that there were 3 wards, two of them filled with municipal wheat, which is supposed to be delivered to the Syrian Grain Corporation, in addition to Quantities of ration flour.

Zaher pointed out that the branch of the Syrian Grain Corporation has been informed to inventory the quantities that will be confiscated and the flour will be delivered to the bakery branch, in addition to following up on investigations at the Criminal Security Branch to find out the sources of these quantities.
