Daraa-Sana
The branch of the General Organization for Seed Propagation in Daraa announced the start of receiving contract requests with farmers and agricultural associations wishing to plant wheat and barley during the new season.
The director of the Foundation’s branch, Eng. Samer Al-Zamil, told SANA reporter today that the seeds enjoy reliability and good productivity within the unit area, and the price of one ton of wheat seed is 2.750 million Syrian pounds, and one ton of barley seeds is 2.100 million pounds, indicating that the branch began shipping the seeds to the two agricultural banks The cooperatives in al-Sanamayn and Khirbet Ghazala, in order to reduce the transportation burden for farmers wishing to extract seed from the establishment.
Al-Zamil indicated that the branch has a stock of sifted and sterilized wheat seeds exceeding 6,000 tons, and of barley seeds 200 tons, and a sufficient quantity of raw seeds.
