Forget us at the ballot box: the strategy of the election administrators numbs the area Israel today

2022-10-23T20:20:48.097Z

Just like in America, the politicians are focusing on two mandates from the right that can decide the battle between the blocs • But a week and a half to the elections: the pursuit of a tiny segment of the population puts everything else to sleep • The fear: a boomerang effect that will lead to a decrease in the voting rate

From the very beginning of the elections, most of the parties estimated that the decision would fall on two mandates of right-wing people, who are not interested in voting for Netanyahu or Smotrich.

But it was precisely the pursuit of them, which became the property of central parties - Likud, religious Zionism, the state camp, Yesh Atid, the Jewish Home, and even the Labor Party - gradually took on a strange form.

Disjointed and dreary campaigns, which appeal to a tiny segment of the population and anesthetize the rest.

A rule that every candidate starting in the US presidential elections knows is that there is no point in investing in states like New York, California or Texas, because the result there is known in advance. It is better to focus all resources on the swing states only.

This is how the election managers really decided this time that we should behave as well.

Two mandates will decide everything.

The other 118 mandates can go to sleep in the meantime.

The big question is how many of them will actually wake up next week, and how many will stay to doze even on election day.

In fact, there is considerable fear of a boomerang effect that will lower the turnout on November 1 and affect the true results.

There is no sign of promises

For months, Netanyahu and the Likud campaign have been promoting that only a vote for Mehal will lead to a stable government. Benny Gantz has also posted large billboards with the same message. Ayelet Shaked has been running from city to city trying to convince that only with her there is 61 and a homogeneous government, and even Meretz launched a campaign this week claiming that there is only 61 with March

The simple question of what those parties will do if they achieve their goals and establish a stable government is not answered in the parties' campaign.

Stability is the vision of everything.

Plans, promises, moves to promote, initiatives, policies, all these have no trace.

Even the old and well-known institution of election promises, those that the candidates scatter before every election with the absolute knowledge that they will not be able to promote, were abandoned this time by the parties.

Again, maybe the general public is interested, but probably not the two mandates that they are trying to persuade.

Not only the billboards and digital messages broadcast the same line, but also in the briefing interviews of the politicians themselves, the obedience and desolation continue.

The new candidate for the Knesset, Gadi Eisenkot, made a big deal, who in an interview with GLAZ yesterday refused to answer any question that was directed to him beyond the message page to which he stuck. Failed.

It is not relevant, he replied dryly, and repeated the message of the "stable government" that his party can bring.

For a long time, Netanyahu has been trying to wake up the Likud territory through the "Bibi-Ba" campaign and the public performances outside the cities.

Sometimes there are two or three such performances in one evening.

But when the messages on the billboards and the politicians' interviews are so dry - what are the chances that these actions will succeed?

In Likud, and in the other parties, they are so careful not to inflame the area, that even when Dodo Amsalem says something significant about the justice system and those who sewed cases to Netanyahu, they rush to the official party headquarters to deny the things.

Trying to move the two swinging mandates is perhaps the right move, it's just amazing how much everyone else was left behind this time.
