Hurricane Roslin swept the area between the resorts of Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan in Mexico on the Pacific coast, bringing heavy rain and strong winds today.
And the Associated Press quoted the US National Hurricane Center as saying: "The wind speed reached 150 kilometers per hour, accompanied by heavy rain, which caused waves to rise in the area."
In turn, the head of the Civil Defense Office, Adrian Bobadilla, confirmed the presence of a significant impact of the waves on some infrastructure overlooking the beach.
The Hurricane Center and the National Water Commission warned of mudslides and floods, especially in rugged areas.
Yesterday, the US National Hurricane Center expected Tropical Storm Roslin to increase in strength, to become a hurricane, as it creeps towards tourist resorts on the coast of Mexico.
