After six years, the time has finally come: the construction work for the renovation of the Theresienkirche in Hallbergmoos begins.
Hallbergmoos
– The renovation of the Theresienkirche in Hallbergmoos has been planned for six years, but time and again it got stuck.
Now something is happening: "The church renovation is in the process of starting," Pastor Thomas Gruber said with satisfaction.
Since 2016, the interior renovation of the Church of St. Theresia has already been decided.
The archbishop's ordinariate is responsible for the art treasure built by King Ludwig I in 1832.
In cooperation with the State Office for the Preservation of Monuments, it is responsible for the renovation.
Due to restructuring in the professorship, new building regulations and finally Corona, there were always delays.
"The Mariengrotte will remain in its place and will be overhauled," says Pastor Thomas Gruber.

The planning includes the renovation of the Mariengrotte and barrier-free access to the church.
In the meantime, when considerations became public about not only renovating the Mariengrotte - in the niche on the right at the main entrance - but also relocating it, the excitement was great.
That's off the table now.
"The Mariengrotte will remain in its place and will be overhauled," said Pastor Thomas Gruber.
The figure of Mary is currently in the church in front of the confessional and will return to its original place after the building has been renovated.
By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.
Construction work will take place next year
The renovation should not be long in coming: "All applications have been approved, an architect has been named," said Gruber on the current state of affairs.
The first preliminary work has already been done: on the inner walls of the church it can be seen that color samples have already been taken in individual places.
The pastor assumes that most of the construction work will take place in 2023.

A donation from the women of St. Theresa is just right: 800 euros were collected from the sale of the Easter candles.
Ingrid Kammann, Agnes Matschinsky and Christine Biegler handed over the symbolic donation check to Pastor Thomas Gruber.
