Nine people were killed and 47 others were injured today as a result of a terrorist attack with a car bomb that targeted a hotel in the southern Somali city of Kismayo.
AFP quoted Jubaland Minister of Security Yusuf Hussein Osman as saying in a statement that al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab terrorist group targeted a security meeting in a hotel in Kismayo with a car packed with explosives, followed by heavy gunfire, noting that the security forces managed to kill the terrorists who carried out the attack.
The Somali army has been waging a war for years against the extremist Al-Shabab movement, which has claimed numerous terrorist operations that have killed hundreds of people.
