Rumors that Russian President Vladimir Putin is in poor health and even in danger of death grew stronger last weekend, after photographs of him showed signs on the back of his hand that he had undergone transfusion treatment on the back of his hand - which rekindled rumors that he was suffering from cancer and living with crippling pain.

Britain's Sun reported that Putin made a rare appearance on Thursday when he fired a sniper rifle at a Russian military training camp for new recruits.

In the propaganda videos released by the Kremlin, Putin is seen trying to pat a Russian soldier on the shoulder, revealing a mysterious mark on the back of his hand in the process.

A reporter for The Kyiv Post, Jason J. Smart, shared the footage on Twitter and claimed that "videos released by the Russian government's news network show what could be signs of an infusion by Putin."

For the same event, the Kremlin released two videos: One with tons of watermarks (making the hand harder to see), the other without any shot of his hand.

He also claimed that Moscow released two videos: one with many obfuscating symbols to supposedly disguise Putin's hand and another that does not show them at all.

He also claimed that Russia's state news network quickly deleted the footage in a move that added to speculation about Putin's health.

In contrast to his assertion, there are claims that the mysterious mark is merely "just a strange angle of bulging veins".

Tom Warner, a former reporter in Ukraine wrote to him in response: "I downloaded the 5 videos of this event that were posted on Telegram and looked closely for pictures of the back of the hand. It seems to be just a strange angle of swollen veins. But Putin's hand and face look swollen in all the videos - which indicates Long-term steroid use.

Others claimed it could be a bite mark while a former neurosurgeon determined that these were indeed swollen veins, but not just any but varicose veins, created by multiple infusion catheters.

These reports come amid rumors that continue to circulate that the Russian leader suffers from a rare cancer and Parkinson's and travels with an entourage of doctors who attend to him around the clock.

Sky News reported that Putin had recently complained many times of pain before critical meetings held in the war room.

These reports were of course not confirmed by the Kremlin.

"(Putin) complained of pains in the abdominal cavity, which could not be treated quickly, and throughout the meeting he leaned forward, trying to maintain a natural posture," the website said.

The 70-year-old president also held meetings with the leader of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and according to the reports, suffered pain during them, when in the photos Putin is seen leaning forward and constantly moving his hands.

Many of the viewers of the speech in which Putin announced the annexation of four regions in Ukraine claimed that he looked "eaten by cancer" and was suffering from crippling pain.
