Bridge construction work in Munich: a week of commuter chaos - buses replace S-Bahn trains on two lines

The railway continues to work on the bridges in Balanstrasse and Werinherstrasse.

This leads to cancellations in train traffic.

The regional train is also affected.

Munich - gap because of bridge!

Due to construction work on the underpasses on Werinherstrasse and Balanstrasse, there are massive changes in the timetable, diversions and rail replacement services in the S-Bahn and regional trains.

Road traffic in Balanstrasse and Werinherstrasse is also affected.

Bridge construction work on Balanstrasse and Werinherstrasse: S-Bahn line closed for a week

The new bridge structures were last erected laterally, but are to be pushed into their final position in the next few days.

The old bridges will then be demolished.

Therefore, the S-Bahn line between Giesing and St. Martin-Straße from Saturday, October 29, 2 a.m., to Friday, November 4, 4 a.m. and the railway line between Munich South and Munich East from Saturday, October 29, 10 a.m. continuously until Friday, November 4, 6 a.m., will be completely closed.

That has consequences.

The S3 does not run between Ostbahnhof and Deisenhofen, and all trains that run every 10 minutes on the eastern S3 section are no longer available.

Between Deisenhofen and Munich, the S-Bahn trains are diverted via Solln and run from or to the main station, on weekdays sometimes only to and from Heimeranplatz.

There is no S7 between Ostbahnhof and Perlach.

A rail replacement service will be set up for passengers on both lines.

On the S3, buses run between Ostbahnhof and Deisenhofen.

The SEV exists on the S7 between Giesing and Perlach.

The underground line U2 can be used from and to Giesing.

In the case of the Southeast Bavarian Railway (SOB), there are in particular failures between Munich Central Station and Munich East.

BRB trains are also affected by the diversions.
