The pasture cooperative as owner and tenant Rainer Butschal make a second attempt to open a snack bar at the Eberlhof in Rapoltskreut near Peißenberg.

Peißenberg - It is a project that is expressly desired by local municipal politics because it would be an enrichment for the tourist offer and the hiking trail infrastructure in Peißenberg.

But whether there will be a snack bar at the Eberlhof that can only be reached on foot ultimately depends on the goodwill of the district office.

At the most recent meeting of the Peißenberg building committee, a proposal to create an open space with seating and relaxation options was on the agenda.

He was referring to an application made in January to convert a timber warehouse into a farm shop for regional products.

The same was positively decided by the district office.

However, not so the initially also desired guest garden.

The snack station should provide "ideal refreshment for the further way up the Hoher Peißenberg".

The description of the establishment states that “a guest garden with tables and chairs is planned for direct consumption.

Depending on the weather and season, this opens on beautiful Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

A cool drink with a view - the ideal refreshment for the further way up the Hoher Peißenberg.

The bottom line was that only the farm shop was approved.

But that's not enough for tenant Rainer Butschal.

The necessary customer frequency for the farm shop, so goes his argument, would only result in connection with a snack station.

Hence the Tektur application for a place to sit and relax in the immediate entrance area of the planned farm shop at the south-west tip of the Eberlhof.

Eberlhof near Peißenberg: Now the district office has to decide

The capacity is described in the planning documents as 20 places.

The terrain should not be touched.

In terms of content, the matter was clear to the committee: Since the planning with the guest garden had already been approved, the municipal agreement would also be given for the reduced open space with seating and relaxation options.

Now the district office has to decide.

Rudi Mach (Peißenberger Liste) also gave his place, although he had expressed concerns in the previous debate.

Background: Butschal and the pasture cooperative are in a clinch with a resident.

The access road to the Eberlhof via the Sulz does belong to the municipality or, in the upper part, to the cooperative.

But the path also runs along the shoulders over the land of the residents.

He fears that motorized traffic to the Eberlhof could increase due to the farm shop and a snack bar.

Discussion about hiking trails - mayor strives for moderate tones

There is also concern that day trippers could park on his premises.

Apparently, a threatening backdrop was set up towards the community.

At least that's what Rudi Mach indicated: "I'm not against it, but we should first clarify the access area.

Otherwise we'll be in endless trouble.

Otherwise he (meaning the resident; editor’s note) will block our paths.” The problem: Popular hiking trails such as the “Zick-Zack-Weg”, the “Spitzweg-Wanderroute” and the path via the Mittelstollen in the direction of the Hoher Peißenberg run over the bottom of the adjacent area.

However, his committee colleagues did not share Mach’s concerns: “We want to advance Peißenberg and shouldn’t be afraid of anyone and cuddle.

We have to show strength now," explained Stefan Rießenberger (citizens' association).

Jürgen Forstner (Freie Wahler) took the same line: "You can't have anything against the project - unless you always have something against it." Bernd Schewe (SPD) also pleaded for "not to freeze in awe".

An amicable agreement with the residents would be the better solution, but if hiking trails were to be blocked, you would have to take legal action to defend yourself.

"He won't get through that easily," Schewe suspected.

Mayor Frank Zellner (CSU) tried to be moderate: "The farm shop has already been approved.

And the terrace would not really have a big impact.”
